Easy Eye Shadow for work
Ariel on Instagram asks:
“I work in child care and always have to wear a mask now and wear glasses. I want to find an in between where I’m not trying too hard, but do have makeup on. So maybe a simple eye makeup for work because I’m wearing a mask.”
A common idea when starting to play with makeup is to focus on fun eye shadows. Nothing wrong with this, but it’s important to also do the complexion. You see, many times eye shadow colors highlight blemishes on your skin! It’s distracting and takes away from the eye focus of your look.
So the first step to your eye shadow is - remove distractions on the skin.
To keep it simple, just use a foundation powder and blush. I love Mac: Studio Fix Powder and Nars for blush. Check out the thier color “Sex Appeal” to compliment your fair skin- it’s a really soft matte pink that won’t be too strong.
And FINALLY - the eye shadow look!
Sweep a light shimmery champagne color all over - lash line to brow.
Sweep a matte taupe shade across the socket area around your eye.
Use your finger tip to rub a buttery textured glitter all over the lid
Use a brown eye liner to sketch close to the lashes.
*I used this one from NYX*Use a smudge brush or q tip to smudge the line together
*and pull the color out into a little wing if you’re feeling sassy*
The Pillow Talk palette from Charlotte Tilbury is perfect for this. I especially love the “pop” shade which is one shade in all her palettes that’s super emollient and has a magical glistening finish.
Pro Tip: A finger tip works best to apply this “pop shade” kind of formula
BUT this look can be duped with many many many different things so just apply these concepts to what you got if possible!
