Makeup For Beginners

Today’s question comes from Heather in my new facebook community.

Heather asks:
“I would love to see makeup for beginners. How my 12 yr old can start wearing make up without having to have a billion brushes 47 layers of foundation, powder, highlighter, etc. Just simple beginner make up.”

Heather, I get it! There are so many “gurus” and influencers and products in your face, it’s all a bit overwhelming. And the truth is - entertainment makeup videos usually won’t help you with real life makeup situations!

Don’t worry,
I’m here to help.

5 Step Makeup For Beginners

  1. Prep the skin. Skin care is the most important thing to learn at the beginning as no makeup will look good without it. Let me if you’d like more info on this!

  2. Start with a Tinted Moisturizer and have a pro help you find the right color if possible. Ulta and Sephora are great places to go for this.

  3. Set your Tinted Moisturizer with a Translucent Powder. This will look more natural than using a foundation powder which comes in your skin color.

  4. Find a sculpting palette that includes bronzer, blush, and highlight. This will finish your face as well as your eyes!

  5. Finish by filling in brows as needed, brushing them upwards and smoothing down the top line

This is meant as a guide. All of these products can be easily duped with MANY other things! Just find something similar that’s available to you and within your budget!
